How To Add A Spoiler Tag On Youtube

As y'all might take noticed, the YouTube tags don't quite work properly right now. If y'all effort to post a video by including the full URL in the link, the forum software automatically turns your link into a hyperlink, and then this:

[YOUTUBE ]http://www.youtube.com/watch?5=5KaltD0Z6ww[/YOUTUBE ] (without the spaces)

Gives you lot this:

[YOUTUBE]Dancing Cows? - YouTube[/YOUTUBE]

How to go it to piece of work? You lot meet that unique string of characters later on the "watch?v=" part? What you gotta exercise is copy and paste that string and only that string betwixt the YouTube tags. Then your videos will embed properly. And then this:

[YOUTUBE ]5KaltD0Z6ww[/YOUTUBE ] (again, without the spaces)

Gives you lot this.

Also, to accost the defoliation virtually what videos you lot can and tin't post: 99% of the time, posting a YouTube video is a-ok. It just has to comply with the Code of Bear, which means, amid other thing, that you can't post links to whatsoever videos posted on your ain YouTube business relationship. When in doubt nigh a video, simply ask ane of us, or mail a thread in Ask The Staff with the link, asking if it's okay. You lot can use this tag to hide spoilerific plot points in Entertainment and Media, or to put a big chunk of text or a huge film in an hands minimizable cake. There'south no push in the post editor for the spoiler tag; y'all just have to call back that it's in that location.

I always just unticked the "Automatically parse links in text" and "Automatically think titles from external links" boxes below the submit push button. Didn't know you could just insert the extension!

I've been using the method thecat06 and Ridiculous mentioned for a long time, though I can come across how the method of posting simply the unique identifier between the YouTube tags works better, equally it doesn't preclude other URLs in the post from being automatically parsed like the method of unchecking "Automatically parse links in text" does.
